Join us for champagne and hors d'oeuvres, meet the artist, and see this most unusual and beautiful art show at Java John's.
From the artist:
Laurel and I played a lot of cribbage when we were first married and I made a couple cribbage boards from ‘interesting’ pieces of wood. That piqued my interest in unusual cribbage boards and since then I have collected pieces of wood, most of which grew on our acreage near Decorah, with an eye toward making unique cribbage boards. I now have a lot of pieces.
I have written computer programs that allow me to produce hole-drilling instructions for the machine that incorporate the shape, knots, coloring, and other features of the boards into the hole pattern for each cribbage board. Virtually every board I make has a unique pattern.
I hope you enjoy looking at my creations.
