This month, Java John' will combine art and the written word. The exhibit, Building the Agricultural City, will feature six broadsides that envision the future of the Driftless region alongside visual interpretations of our landscape.
Building the Agricultural City is a collaborative project of individuals and organizations seeking to build a self-reliant and prosperous economy in the Driftless region.
The broadsides, written by AmeriCorps volunteers Kristin Eggen, Ryan Hall and Doug Tuers, along with Joseph Jonas and Robert Wolf, offer multiple visions of a sustainable Driftless economy for 2050.
Artists Mary Ann Gloe, David Esslemont, Roma O’Brien, Linda Elkins, and Eric and Jenni Peterson-Brant, along with Elkader photographer, Larry Stone, contribute works in watercolor, oil, mixed media and collage.
Join us for a champagne reception to meet the writers and artists.
